Doro Cup

The Ferm Living Doro Cup is one of those simple pieces that somehow makes your morning coffee ritual feel more intentional. The curved handle sits perfectly in your hand, and there's something about the proportions that just feels right - not too big that you're wrestling with it, not so small that you need three refills to feel human. The ceramic has this smooth, matte finish that doesn't show fingerprints or water spots the way some mugs do, which matters more than you'd think when you're using something daily. The neutral color works with basically any kitchen aesthetic, and it's substantial enough that it feels like quality without being so heavy that you're doing arm exercises with your morning beverage. What's practical about this cup is how it handles both hot and cold drinks really well - the ceramic holds temperature nicely, and the handle stays cool even with boiling coffee. It's dishwasher safe, which shouldn't be noteworthy but somehow plenty of nice mugs aren't, and it's sized perfectly for that goldilocks amount of coffee where you're satisfied but not jittery. The shape makes it comfortable to hold for extended periods, which matters if you're someone who nurses their coffee while working or reading. It's one of those pieces where the simplicity is actually the sophistication - no unnecessary details, just a really well-designed cup that does its job perfectly. Ferm Living designs from Copenhagen with that Danish approach where even the most basic household items deserve thoughtful consideration. They understand that we interact with things like coffee cups multiple times every day, so they might as well be pleasant to use and look at. Their philosophy focuses on creating everyday objects that enhance daily rituals rather than just getting the job done, using quality materials and proportions that feel right in your hands.
