D.O.R.M. 18™ Launch Set

A Real First Launch, Not a Practice Run The D.O.R.M. 18™ Launch Set is built for people who want to get out and actually launch, not spend weeks figuring out what they need. You get the rocket kit along with the Porta-Pad® II Launch Pad and Electron Beam® Launch Controller, so when you’re ready to go, you’re not stuck piecing together a setup from scratch. Engines and recovery wadding are sold separately, which is part of the experience. You choose the engine, prep it yourself, and start to understand how each piece affects the flight. That hands-on involvement is what makes the first launch stick. A Build That Keeps You Moving This is the kind of build that doesn’t stall out halfway through. The design keeps things straightforward, especially with molded plastic fins that help everything line up the way it should. You’re not fighting the kit just to get a clean result. It comes together in a way that feels smooth and intentional. You make progress quickly, but you’re still engaged the whole time. By the end, you’ve actually built something, and it shows. Fast Off the Pad, Easy to Follow When it launches, there’s no hesitation. The D.O.R.M. 18 lifts clean and accelerates quickly, climbing hard on its way toward 1000 feet. It’s high enough to feel impressive, but still easy to track with the naked eye, which matters more than people expect on their first few flights. You can follow the entire arc without losing it, from liftoff through coast, right up to the moment it tips over. Recovery You Don’t Have to Chase At apogee, the parachute deploys and everything slows down. The bright canopy hangs in the air long enough for you to get your bearings and move toward the landing zone instead of guessing where it might come down. There’s a rhythm to it. Launch, track, recover, reset. It keeps the experience moving instead of breaking it. A Rocket That Earns Its Spot in Your Lineup This isn’t something you fly once and forget about. The D.O.R.M. 18 holds up, flies consistently, and gives you room to experiment with different engines as you get more comfortable. It becomes one of those rockets you bring with you every time because you know exactly what kind of flight you’re going to get. And more often than not, it’s the one that ends up flying more than anything else in your range box.
