Dorchester LP

The Dorchester LP is a British World War II-era armoured command vehicle, based on the AEC Matador chassis. Designed for high-ranking officers and staff operations, it featured a spacious, boxy structure with multiple hatches, armored plating, and external fittings for communication gear. The "LP" variant indicates a localized production or field modification, often used in North Africa or the Middle East. Its interior was equipped with workstations, radios, and map boards, providing a mobile headquarters on the battlefield. Despite its heavy appearance, it maintained moderate mobility for its class and was widely regarded for its comfort and utility by British and Commonwealth forces.
