Don

DON By Gonzalo Adrian Battaglia Illustration marker and pigment ink print on hand-torn 300 gsm rag paper, 2015.    ABOUT THIS SERIES - FAN ART: BLOODY TOONS In 2015, I rented a table at Supercon Miami Beach, and while sitting there with my work, I realized I was missing the entire point of the fair. Attendees asked for original art, but with recognizable characters, also known as Fan Art. So, I started drawing and developed the “Bloody Toons” series right then and there. The Bloody Toons are drawn in black and white with gray tones, except for one color: red for blood. Each character is depicted alone with a variety of weapons that suggest bloody events without expressly showing them, thereby allowing the participation of the viewer’s imagination.
