Dolly Parton silhouette, Tennessee, 2000

I've photographed Dolly Parton twice so far. This photo is from the second time, for her 'Little Sparrow' album. We had already worked together once before, a couple of years before, to great effect. This time was equally good. She understood, and wanted, my grittier style which fit in with the more back-to-her-roots records she was making then. She was super easy to work with and fun to be around and this was a much more relaxed shoot than the first time with almost nobody around. I found a cabin outside of Nashville for us to do the photos at and we shot until long after sunset. Archival pigment print on baryta 315 gsm, acid-free, 100% cotton-fiber paper.
