Its natural phytochemical base may help prevent or bypass thyroid and glandular dysfunction by feeding gland health via nutrients as well as adpatogens which bridge nutritional gaps); may help fight infection in the body; and due to its phosphatidyl serine content, it may also provide neuro-protective (brain, cognitive) benefits from free radical damage, important in supporting brain health including mental focus, concentration, alertness and mental acuity for dogs and cats. The natural plant chemicals contained in this botanical wonder are impressive and have been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as super foods. Maca and Suma are also designated as level one herbal adaptogens, which works intrinsically and synergistically with the animal body to identify and manage metabolic stress. Maca and Suma have also been qualified as functional foods due to their nutritive content which nourishes the endocrine, cardiovascular, digestive, reproductive, circulatory and excretory systems; as well as may act a general disease preventative.    It is also used in the veterinarian holistic and integrative treatment of Alzheimer's disease and Cognitive Disorder (sometimes incorrectly referred to as dog and cat dementia.)
