Dog Stirrup Cup 5oz

Salisbury Stirrup Cup Dog, 5oz      For those who cherish canine companions or delight in unique, historically inspired barware, the Salisbury Stirrup Cup Dog offers an exceptional blend of tradition and artistry. This 5-ounce pewter cup is modeled after the classic stirrup cups used by hunters and horsemen centuries ago. The name “stirrup cup” originates from the custom of offering a quick drink to riders just as they mounted their horses—with feet firmly in the stirrups—before setting out on a hunt or journey.    The sculptural dog motif on this cup is a fitting nod to the loyal hunting dogs that have accompanied humans through generations. Expertly crafted in smooth, polished pewter, the cup captures the noble spirit of the hunt as well as the warmth and loyalty of man’s best friend. The pewter material not only lends a sophisticated metallic sheen but also ensures durability and a weighty, substantial feel in the hand.    One of the cup’s most delightful features is its playful serving style. Traditionally, stirrup cups were filled with liquor while resting upside down, then flipped upright for the drinker—a charming ritual that adds an element of theatricality to any gathering. This unique approach will surely captivate guests and ignite stories about hunting lore, horseback traditions, and the origins of this distinctive piece.    Beyond its role as a stirring vessel, the Salisbury Stirrup Cup Dog stands as a collector’s item and decorative treasure. It fits seamlessly into rustic, country, or vintage-inspired bar setups, and also makes a thoughtful gift for dog lovers, equestrian enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates historical elegance combined with practical use.    Hand washing is recommended to maintain the cup’s finish and longevity. Its modest 5-ounce capacity makes it ideal for savoring fine spirits, whiskies, or small cocktails, while its solid construction and iconic design ensure it remains a conversation starter for years to come.   Dog Stirrup Cup Category: Stirrup Cups & Jiggers Material: Lead-free Pewter Color: Pewter Silver Capacity: 5 oz.
