Dobala - Vintage Medallion Rug - 5'7 X 9'6

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece showcases Anatolian heritage through its flatwoven construction, faded patina, abrash detail, overdyed finish, low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones in beige and purple. About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed pieces typically utilise an overdyed process where a rug is submerged in a single-colour bath, creating a ghost-pattern effect where the original motif remains visible beneath the wash. Medallion and floral compositions serve as hallmarks of these designs, with central motifs and botanical forms derived from traditional Ottoman and 20th-century regional weaving vocabularies. Where It Works The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flush against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. Its profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an effective base for layering in larger rooms. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a central medallion motif surrounded by intricate floral elements and a distressed, overdyed aesthetic. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, which offers both the breathability of cotton and the moisture resistance and durability of polyester. — The flatwoven construction results in a no-shed, low-pile surface that remains stable under heavy foot traffic. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Designed for versatile use, including as a standalone floor covering or as a layering-friendly piece in various home environments.
