The DIY Swing Bed Kit uses only premium Yellow Pine, which has been pre-measured, pre-cut, pre-sanded.  Does the swing bed kit come with a mattress or cushions? No, the mattress and cushions are sold separately. You can purchase it here.  Can this swing bed be left outdoors year-round? This swing bed features wood construction that withstands outdoor conditions when properly maintained. Apply protective finishes to extend its lifespan and preserve its aesthetic appeal. For optimal durability, shield the bed during severe weather and refresh the stain or paint periodically—typically every few years—to maintain weather resistance and visual appeal. Pine wood should not be subjected to direct rainfall or snow.  Can this swing be hung by two points instead of four?  Yes, you can hang the DIY swing bed with one hanging point per side if your beam spacing doesn’t allow for two per side. That said, our preferred setup is two hanging points per side (four total), as it provides the most stability and evenly distributes weight across the frame. If you do go with one point per side, we recommend: Mounting into a solid structural beam (not just a joist or trim) Using heavy-duty swing hardware or eye bolts rated for the full load (which we provide with your kit)  Keeping the rope angles wide and even so the bed hangs level We always recommend checking with a licensed contractor who can assess your individual space and give you the most accurate guidance. What weight capacity does the swing bed support? The swing bed is designed to hold up to 650 lbs, ensuring reliable strength and stability for multiple users or heavier mattresses. What finish options are available? This swing bed kit comes unfinished. We include helpful guidance in the instruction manual for choosing the right stain or paint for this type of wood.  How difficult is assembly and installation? The swing bed requires about two hours of time to build. The kit comes with very comprehensive, step-by-step instructions and images to easily guide you in this process.  How do I maintain the swing bed over time? To maintain its beauty and durability, we suggest you reapply stain or paint every few years as needed. If you live in an area with harsh winters, using a protective cover can help preserve its finish. What is your return policy for this swing bed? We are able to process a return or exchange within 30 days of ordering. Simply ship back the order and we will process your repayment within 5 business days. This item must be unassembled in order to qualify for a return or exchange.   Is it a good idea to DIY a swing bed? Swing beds are actually a pretty simple and straightforward DIY project.
