TK Weekly Learning Packet: Winter - Week 2

NO PREP PRINTABLES FOR DISTANCE LEARNING!!! Distance Learning Packet for TK: Winter - Week 2! This is a printable Distance Learning packet for TK or Kindergarten, WEEK TWO, and the SECOND WEEK for the Winter (second) semester for Heidi! In this file, you will find all of the work for one week of school for TK, with some worksheets that will work for Kindergarten, for both Math and Language Arts subjects. We've included a variety of worksheets and activities, so feel free to use any or all of it with your students! Please note, this week is Holiday themed, with activities involving Reindeer, Gingerbread Man and a Hanukkah Candle Art Project! This week focuses on the letter L, reviewing number 7, and the sight word "we". There are worksheets/activities for the letter L, along with a new fun "Letter Ladder" fluency practice for letters A-L. We've also included a fun winter themed hidden numbers search and new "Number Ladder" fluency practice page, a December Book Easy Reader, and a lot of Gingerbread Man themed pages! Hands on activities include a fun Count the Room Number Search activity, a reindeer art project, and a Hanukkah Candle Pattern Art Project. Directions for how to make both of these art projects are included, along with photos of each completed project. There is also a Holiday Guided Drawing, with steps on how to guide students to draw a triangle Santa, reindeer, and elf! Please note that this packet is appropriate for either TK or Kindergarten, but can be used in Kindergarten depending on your class needs. In my (Heidi’s) experiences, children in TK generally need much more time to learn, and even more developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities than are necessary for most children in Kindergarten. Check out our HeidiSongs internet video site for more videos and songs to help kids learn their letters, shapes, numbers, and more, and follow along with the Monthly Kindergarten Pacing Guide collections if wanted. However, a subscription to our internet video streaming site is not included. We've divided everything up by day of the week, (Monday-Friday) so you have the option of sending this entire packet to students, with everything labeled out on what to do each day! Permission is granted to distribute to families/students in your classroom. We've also included an editable Weekly Lesson Plan page, for those who may want to only include bits and pieces from our packet, or add in worksheets of their own. When teaching remotely this year, I print out the packets and send them to families, divided by day of the week. We will start with our Morning Meeting, and will do some of our Letter of the Week via Google Slides and Number of the Day via Google Slides. Then I give directions for each activity (all via Zoom or Google Meets,) sing with the children using the music videos referenced, and have the children do the activities right there while I “watch” online and wait for questions. Children that finish early can “go play” or read a book at home until we are ready to proceed with the next activity. However, this packet would also work for families to just use them without video guidance from the teacher. It should work either way. I will be posting more ideas for distance learning on my blog. I highly recommend that buyers take a look at my Parent Guide Posters that explain how to teach a child to hold a pencil, use scissors, glue, glue stick, write names, etc. They are fully editable, so that you can change the language used to cue children with your own directions. These are NOT INCLUDED in this packet, because they would have driven the price up dramatically, and not everyone may want to use both those posters and these lesson plans. However, I will be sending them home with my students along with this packet. Please follow my blog for tips on how to adapt these activities for use in the classroom. Each item in this packet is the very similar to the ones I would have done in the classroom. In fact, I am just using my lesson plans from both TK and K to create it!
