The workbook functions well in both small and large group settings and can easily be adapted to meet leaders' particular needs. One body of elders chose to work through all the material over the course of a year, while in another Christian church the elders selected specific sections for study and exploration. Folks noticed a marked difference in our collective approach to ministry. I recommend this new edition for Christians who seek to deepen and broaden the practice of their faith as well as their understanding of leadership in the church and community." —The Rev. James L. Brewer-Calvert, Senior Pastor, First Christian Church of Decatur (Disciples of Christ) "Elders may be the most underused, undervalued asset in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Most Disciples congregations struggle with questions about what elders are and what they should do. Peter Morgan has spent his ministry addressing elder issues in ways that have offered guidance to me as well as provided inspiration to the elders in congregations I have served. What he has to say can do the same for you and your church." —R. Robert Cueni, President, Lexington Theological Seminary
