Service Your Direct Drive Smart Trainer from Home The direct drive belt is like the chain on your bike, there’s no set ride time or mileage to indicate when it’s time for service. It all depends on how many hours you ride and how many watts the trainer is resisting. The more you ride, the harder you push, the sooner the belt will need to be replaced. You know the time has come when the belt teeth no longer line up, which can be diagnosed by a popping noise. And since no one likes losing cherished sweat time to maintenance that requires a trip to the post office, we’ve made the Saris H3 Direct Drive Smart Trainer serviceable from wherever you ride. If you've got a CycleOps Hammer or H2, we've got you covered there too.
