About the Piece Size: 44” by 32” This reproduction of the original chromolithographs plate titled "Diplothemium", published between 1823 and 1850 as part of the highly illustrated, three-volume botanical book of palms by German botanist Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius titled "Natural History of Palms". It shows a large deep purple leaf-like flower with yellow seed-like clusters forming on a stamen. The illustration has been printed on a fade-resistant, heavy-duty synthetic canvas, with its brilliant colours and accurate detail carefully restored. Hand-mounted with aged timber batons and 100% cotton rope. Each artwork comes rolled and ready to hang, individually wrapped in a protective cotton sock and sturdy cardboard box - perfect for shipping and storing.
