Digitrax DS44 | Quad 4-Output Stationary Decoder for DCC Turnouts, Signals & Accessories | Multi Scale

The Digitrax DS44 is a four-output stationary decoder — the easiest way to add DCC control of turnouts, signals, building lights, crossing gates, and other layout accessories to a Digitrax (or any NMRA DCC) system. Wire it into the track bus or a dedicated DCC accessory bus and you can throw turnouts and trigger accessories from any throttle on your layout. Looking for more DCC accessories and decoders? Browse our DCC Decoders and Electronics & Wiring collections. Features Four (4) independent outputs — each can drive a turnout machine, signal, lighting circuit, or accessory. Compatible with twin-coil snap solenoids (Atlas, Peco, NJ International, Walthers) and slow-motion stall-motor turnouts (Tortoise, Hankscraft) via the included config CVs. Powered from the DCC track bus or a separate accessory bus — flexible install. Full NMRA DCC accessory addressing — up to 2048 unique addresses, programmable from any throttle. Programmable timing, route control, and momentary/static operation per output. Compact 1.9 × 1.5 in board — mounts under benchwork with #4 screws. Condition New — sealed FAQ What's the difference between the DS44 and the DS64? The DS64 has more advanced features — LocoNet support, route programming with multi-output sequences, occupancy detection inputs, and more flexible signal/lighting modes. The DS44 is the simpler, lower-cost option for basic 4-turnout or 4-accessory control without LocoNet. Can it drive Tortoise (stall-motor) turnouts? Yes — set the output mode CVs to "stall-motor" and wire one Tortoise per output. Each output handles the constant low current Tortoise needs. Do I need LocoNet to use this? No. The DS44 is a pure DCC accessory decoder — it works with any NMRA-compliant DCC system (Digitrax, NCE, MRC, etc.). LocoNet is not required. How do I program addresses? The DS44 uses standard NMRA accessory programming — press the program button on the board, then send the address command from any throttle. Detailed steps in the Digitrax instruction sheet.
