Diane Witch Hazel Shrub

Does winter weather leave you missing blooms? This perennial shrub is truly winter flowering—usually around January or February depending on the weather and climate. The flowers Diane produces are spectacular. They're delightfully fragrant and come in a rare orangey–red hue that really draws attention in an icy landscape. The flower shape is fascinating too, with long, strap–like, curling petals. Adding in witch hazel is a great way to show off your landscape design skills. It's normally quite difficult to plan a garden that remains attractive in all four seasons. But witch hazel helps in some of the trickier months, not only because of the winter blooms, but with beautiful red–orange fall foliage. Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diane'
