After graduating from New York University she studied at the Gemology Institute of America and apprenticed under esteemed jewelers while developing the Claudia Mae collection piece by piece. Her Nomad rings ground the collection, serving as an homage to the antique gypsy rings she grew up collecting with her mother and grandmother.
