Dial: Help (1988)

After ending an affair, a beautiful model (Charlotte Lewis) finds herself tormented by mysterious and unsettling phone calls. At first, she suspects her ex-lover, but soon realizes that the calls are coming from something far more sinister—a deadly force communicating from beyond the grave, using the telephone lines as a conduit for terror. Desperate for help, she turns to her neighbor, a knowledgeable professor of paranormal phenomena, who warns her that powerful negative energies can manifest through technology. Soon, ordinary phones become instruments of murderous intent, strangling victims and unleashing a wave of bloody chaos. Can she escape the supernatural menace that stalks her every move, or will she become its next victim? Ruggero Deodato, the infamous director behind exploitation masterpieces Cannibal Holocaust and Cut and Run, delivers this bizarre and wildly inventive thriller that mixes supernatural horror with absurd dark humor. Starring Charlotte Lewis, and featuring a pulsing synth soundtrack by Goblin's Claudio Simonetti, Dial: Help is an offbeat, highly entertaining ride that blends the paranoia of technology gone mad with Deodato’s trademark shocking visual style. 94 minutes WIDESCREEN VERSION (anamorphic) English audio soundtrack DVD is NTSC format, Region 0 (region free) playable world wide Also known as: Minaccia d'amore Directed by Ruggero Deodato Starring: Charolette Lewis, Marcello Modugno, Mattia Sbragia, Carola Stagnaro, Victor Cavallo, Carlo Monni and William Berger
