For example, research has demonstrated improvements in building lean body mass and reducing fat mass, as well as increased muscle strength when combined with weightlifting training, in older individuals. Other studies have suggested that DHEA supplementation might help infertility, learning and memory, erectile dysfunction in men, libido and sexual symptoms in older women, mood, and inflammation. Preliminary research suggest DHEA benefits bone mineral density in certain populations. Topical application of DHEA has been shown to improve the appearance of aging skin by increasing sebum production and epidermal thickness, resulting in improved skin brightness and papery appearance.
