Petpost Detangling Spray for Dogs - Naturally Rejuvenating Hair Detangler with Oatmeal, Aloe & Vitamin E - Removes Knots, Mats & Tangles - 8 oz

If you have a long-haired dog, you already know the daily reality: knots form overnight, mats build up behind the ears and under the legs, and brushing through them feels like punishment for both of you. Reaching for scissors to cut out a tangle is tempting, but every time you do, you're leaving a bald patch that takes months to grow out. There has to be a better way — and most "detangling" sprays on the market just don't deliver. They either leave the coat greasy and oily, or they smell like a salon and barely loosen the smallest knot. Petpost Detangling Spray for Dogs is built differently. The naturally derived oatmeal, aloe, and vitamin E formula lubricates the hair shaft so knots slide apart under the brush instead of pulling and snapping. The colloidal oatmeal soothes the skin underneath while the formula strengthens and conditions the fur — so over time, you don't just remove tangles, you actually develop a healthier, less tangle-prone coat. Why dog owners love it Tangle-free coat in minutes: The lubricating formula coats each strand so knots and mats slide apart under the brush instead of fighting back. Put the scissors away — you don't need to cut tangles out anymore. Oatmeal, aloe, and vitamin E: Colloidal oatmeal soothes skin and conditions hair. Aloe vera adds moisture. Vitamin E strengthens the hair shaft, reducing future breakage and tangles. Smoother, shinier, healthier fur: Beyond just detangling, the formula actively nourishes the coat. Most dogs show visibly shinier fur within 2 to 3 uses. Won't leave a greasy or oily residue: Unlike heavy conditioning sprays that leave the coat looking greasy, this formula absorbs cleanly so your dog looks fresh, not heavy. No-rinse formula: Spray, brush, and you're done. No need to bathe or rinse off. Perfect for daily grooming sessions or quick touch-ups before walks. Safflower and sunflower oil: Naturally derived plant oils add slip without weighing the coat down. The combination penetrates and conditions without coating the surface. Made in the USA: Crafted in small US batches with naturally derived ingredients and recyclable packaging. What makes Petpost different Most detangling sprays fall into one of two camps: heavy silicone-coating formulas that make the coat look fake-shiny but leave a greasy residue, or watered-down "natural" sprays that smell nice but don't actually loosen knots. vs. silicone-heavy detanglers: No greasy buildup, no need for clarifying washes to remove residue. The coat stays looking natural and clean. vs. weak "natural" detangling mists: Real lubricating ingredients that actually loosen knots, not just nice-smelling water. vs. cutting tangles out with scissors: No bald patches. No uneven coat. No regrowth that takes months to blend back in. vs. wet-down brushing: No bath required. Works on dry coat for daily maintenance. How to use Step 1 — Shake well before using. Some of the conditioning ingredients settle to the bottom. Step 2 — Spray onto damp or dry coat. Works on both. For daily maintenance, spray on dry fur. After baths, spray on damp fur to make brushing out post-bath tangles easier. Step 3 — Avoid the face and eyes. Hold the bottle 6 to 8 inches from your dog's coat. Mist the body, legs, and tail. For face tangles, spray a small amount on a brush and apply that way. Step 4 — Brush thoroughly. Start with a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush for the worst knots. Work from the ends of the hair inward toward the skin (not the other way around — that just tightens knots). Move to a finer brush once the major tangles are out. Step 5 — No rinsing required. Let the coat air dry. The formula absorbs cleanly. For dogs with severe matting, you may need 2 to 3 sessions over a few days to fully remove all tangles. For maintenance, regular spray-and-brush every few days prevents new tangles from forming. This spray stays on the coat to provide ongoing detangling benefits between baths. Use both for the best results. Will it work on severely matted hair? For light to moderate matting, yes — work patiently in small sections. For severe matting that's close to the skin, you may need professional grooming. The spray makes the professional's job much easier. Can I use it on cats? Yes — the formula is safe for cats. Long-haired breeds like Persians and Maine Coons benefit from regular detangling. Will my dog's coat get greasy? No, when used as directed. The light mist absorbs without leaving residue. If you spray too much, you might see temporary heaviness — just brush through and let it absorb fully. How often can I use it? Daily if needed. The gentle formula is safe for frequent use. Does it help reduce shedding? It doesn't reduce the amount of shedding, but by helping you brush through more thoroughly, more loose fur ends up in the brush instead of on your couch.
