Derrick Adams: Prints

A vibrant celebration of image, process, and joy—this is what unfolds in Derrick Adams: Prints, a striking hardback that turns an artist’s journey into a visual experience of its own. Across more than six years of collaboration with Tandem Press, Brooklyn-based artist Derrick Adams pushes printmaking into bold, playful territory—layering screenprints, multi-process experiments, and even a 100-piece puzzle-cut woodblock technique into a dazzling archive of Black leisure, identity, and joy. Every page pulses with color and movement. Collage-like compositions echo Adams’ signature painting style, where figures float, gather, rest, and revel in moments of everyday beauty. It’s not just documentation—it’s celebration. A printed echo of works like Self-Portrait with Float, reimagined in ways that feel fresh, graphic, and alive. Designed by Chips NYC—the studio behind standout visual worlds for Nosferatu, Wicked, Babygirl, and Nickel Boys—the book itself becomes an art object: bold, modern, and impossible to ignore. With an insightful interview and essays by Judy Hecker alongside poetry from Krista Franklin, this is more than a studio record—it’s a deep dive into process, collaboration, and the joy of making. Bright. Bold. Unapologetically expressive. This is printmaking turned into a celebration. Details  Hardcover  112 pages with 30 Illustrations Dimension: 12in x 9in
