Der Leiermann from Winterreise

(Alto or Tenor Saxophone and Piano) The art songs of Schubert’s master-work Winterreise represent some of the finest chamber music of the Romantic era. For two centuries, they have inspired countless musicians. Here, they are offered to the saxophone community as both concert and teaching pieces. The editorial markings are but suggestions. Students are encouraged to research the songs, learn their lyrics, and allow that knowledge to inform performance. The recordings of these works by master musicians such as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau should be consulted for interpretive ideas and inspiration. Also check out Andrew Allen's arrangement of "Der Lindenbaum" from the same work. View Score Sample
