Zea mays HEIRLOOM. A lovely, soft, white flour corn given to us by a customer whose family has been growing it in Haywood County, NC for at least a century. It may be an old selection of either Cocke's Prolific or Hastings Prolific, though the flour quality is softer than both. The variety is named for the Cataloochee Valley, an isolated spot deep in the Great Smoky Mountains that has served as a rich hunting ground for the Cherokee people, and for a time, the site of thriving European settlement. Cataloochee White dent corn should be direct seeded in a location with full sun after all danger of frost has passed. Ears will reach maturity in about 110 days. ¼ lb package contains approximately 240 seeds. SMALL FARM GROWN by Butterfly Cove Botanicals, Bryson City, NC Packet weight: 1/4 lb
