Denso Air Conditioning Compressor for 06-11 Civic Si

Factory New, Not Remanufactured Compatible with 8th Gen Civic Si Clutch and Pulley Included Flush The System When You Install Description Vehicle Fitment Included Denso Air Conditioning Compressor (471-7055) - 2006-2011 Honda Civic Si When your Si's AC quits, the compressor is usually the culprit, and the choice is between a cheap remanufactured unit and a proper new one. This is a factory-new Denso compressor, from the company that actually supplies OE compressors to Honda and most major manufacturers. It's not a rebuild of a worn core, it's a new unit built to the same standard as what the car came with. New, Not Remanufactured The distinction that matters most, so it's worth being clear. A remanufactured compressor is a used core with worn internals replaced, and it's a gamble on how good that rebuild was and what wear remained. Reman units are cheaper for a reason, and they fail earlier more often. This is factory new. Every component is new, built and tested to OE standards, with no unknown history behind it. On a part that's involved to replace and expensive when it fails again, starting with new rather than rebuilt is the difference between doing the job once and doing it twice. Denso Is The OE Supplier This is the reason to buy Denso specifically over a generic new compressor. Denso is one of the world's largest OE suppliers of AC compressors, and their units are specified by most major manufacturers, Honda included. They didn't reverse-engineer this compressor, they originally designed it. Nobody understands the unit better than the company that built it for the factory in the first place. That's what Denso's First Time Fit promise is about: the right part with the right fit the first time, because it's the same engineering that went into the car originally. Built To Last In A Hot Environment An AC compressor lives a hard life, spinning constantly whenever the AC is on, in the heat of the engine bay. The engineering here is aimed at surviving that. Snap rings that hold up under extreme heat, thrust bearings built for the tension and stress of continuous operation, lightweight aluminum alloy valves, shafts, and swash plates for strength without excess weight, and PTFE surface-treated pistons for smooth, efficient operation. These aren't marketing points, they're the components that determine whether a compressor lasts years or fails in a couple of summers. It Comes Ready To Install Worth knowing what's included, since it saves sourcing extra parts. The clutch and pulley are included, so you're not buying those separately or transferring them from your old unit. Denso also includes factory O-ring installation kits with OE-specified seals compatible with R-134a, which is what prevents leaks at the connections and ensures the system seals properly on install. Note the compressor cover is not included, so if yours needs one, source it separately. Do The System, Not Just The Compressor Practical advice worth more than the part, since AC work is expensive to redo. When a compressor fails, it often sends debris through the system. Installing a new compressor without addressing that means the contamination can damage your new unit. Best practice is to replace or flush the affected components, the receiver-drier or accumulator and the expansion valve or orifice tube, and flush the lines when you replace the compressor. Skipping that to save money is how people end up replacing a brand-new compressor a season later. Do the system properly and this lasts. Fitment 2006-2011 Honda Civic Si Part number 471-7055.
