Jeans today are made with a lighter weight indigo denim, but this is a full 12 oz. material that's as tough as nails. You won't find any sulfur or indigo dyes in here, just pure organic cotton with a gentle wash. With a standard 3X1 construction, the fabric is pre-washed and ready to go into your projects!   A little denim history: The name came from a town in France called 'Nimes', where the fabric was called serge de nemis; later shortened to just 'denim'. It was in the late-nineteenth century when Levi Strouss developed the 'indigo denim', and in the mid-twentieth century they became poplar with everyone from miners, to cowboys, to teenage kids.
