DENAFRIPS TERMINATOR 15TH R-2R DAC

The DENAFRIPS TERMINATOR 15TH represents the culmination of fifteen years of engineering, research and refinement in discrete digital audio conversion. Designed as the company's flagship R-2R DAC, it combines uncompromising engineering with a singular purpose—to reproduce music with extraordinary realism, precision and emotional impact. From the very first note, the TERMINATOR 15TH creates an effortless sense of scale and authority. Recordings unfold across a vast, three-dimensional soundstage where every instrument and vocal occupies its own clearly defined space. Micro-details emerge naturally from an exceptionally quiet background, while dynamics flow with speed and confidence that make even familiar recordings feel remarkably lifelike. Rather than presenting music with an analytical or clinical character, the TERMINATOR 15TH focuses on preserving the natural relationships between timing, texture and harmonic structure. Vocals possess striking realism, acoustic instruments retain their authentic tonal character and complex musical passages remain organised, transparent and emotionally engaging regardless of genre. At its heart is DENAFRIPS' most advanced discrete resistor-ladder architecture, supported by proprietary FPGA digital processing, adaptive FIFO reclocking, ultra-low-phase-noise OCXO master clocks and a meticulously engineered linear power supply. Together, these technologies work seamlessly to minimise timing errors and electrical noise, allowing the music to emerge with exceptional clarity and coherence. Designed for reference-quality two-channel systems, the TERMINATOR 15TH integrates effortlessly with premium network streamers, dedicated music servers, CD transports and external master clock systems. As the centrepiece of a world-class digital front end, it possesses the transparency and resolution to reveal the full capability of every component connected to it. At RockOnAV, we believe the finest audio equipment should disappear, leaving only the music behind. The DENAFRIPS TERMINATOR 15TH embodies that philosophy by delivering a listening experience that is immersive, natural and profoundly rewarding, setting a benchmark for what reference-level digital playback can achieve. Highlights Flagship Discrete R-2R Performance The TERMINATOR 15TH represents the highest level of performance within DENAFRIPS' standard DAC lineup. Incorporating the company's most advanced engineering, it delivers exceptional transparency, effortless dynamics and remarkable musical realism for listeners pursuing true reference-quality digital playback. Advanced True-Balanced R-2R Architecture Built around DENAFRIPS' flagship true-balanced discrete resistor-ladder design, the TERMINATOR 15TH combines ultra-precise resistor matching with proprietary digital processing to reproduce music with outstanding tonal accuracy, natural harmonic structure and exceptional spatial realism. Exceptional Resolution & Musicality The TERMINATOR 15TH uncovers extraordinary levels of detail without sacrificing the warmth and natural flow of the performance. Recordings retain their emotional impact while revealing subtle textures, ambience and dynamic contrasts that lesser DACs often overlook. Precision Clock & Signal Management Dual ultra-low-phase-noise OCXO master clocks, adaptive FIFO reclocking and proprietary FPGA processing work together to minimise timing errors before conversion. The result is an exceptionally stable soundstage, precise imaging and outstanding low-level resolution. Engineered for Reference Audio Systems With extensive digital connectivity, balanced analogue outputs and external clock support, the TERMINATOR 15TH integrates seamlessly into world-class stereo systems where every component is selected for uncompromising musical performance. Design & Engineering Flagship Discrete R-2R Conversion The TERMINATOR 15TH employs DENAFRIPS' most sophisticated true-balanced discrete resistor-ladder architecture, utilising ultra-precision 0.005% matched thin-film resistor networks rather than conventional DAC chips. This meticulous approach preserves musical timing, tonal accuracy and dynamic expression with exceptional consistency. Proprietary FPGA Digital Processing A dedicated FPGA platform performs advanced digital signal management before conversion, ensuring accurate data handling and seamless integration with the DAC's discrete analogue circuitry. Working alongside adaptive FIFO reclocking, the system helps maintain exceptionally low jitter and outstanding musical coherence. Dual OCXO Master Clocks The TERMINATOR 15TH incorporates separate oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO) for different sampling-rate families. These ultra-stable reference clocks provide exceptional timing precision, contributing to greater image stability, improved transient response and a more natural presentation. Advanced Linear Power Supply A fully encapsulated linear power supply featuring dual high-purity gold-silver-copper alloy O-core transformers delivers clean, stable power to independent analogue and digital stages. Careful isolation and regulation help minimise electrical noise while supporting the DAC's exceptional dynamic capabilities. Precision CNC Aluminium Construction The heavy-duty CNC-machined aluminium chassis provides excellent mechanical stability and effective shielding against electromagnetic interference. Its substantial construction reflects the uncompromising engineering standards expected of a flagship component. Who It's For The DENAFRIPS TERMINATOR 15TH is intended for experienced audiophiles assembling uncompromising reference-quality stereo systems. It is ideally suited to listeners who demand exceptional transparency, realism and long-term performance from their digital source while partnering with premium streamers, transports and amplification capable of revealing its full potential. RockOnAV's Take The TERMINATOR 15TH is designed for listeners who want to hear every capability their system has to offer. It builds upon everything that makes the VENUS 15TH exceptional, introducing another level of refinement, resolution and authority that becomes increasingly apparent in carefully assembled reference systems. What impresses us most is its ability to combine extraordinary detail with complete musical ease. Rather than sounding analytical, the TERMINATOR 15TH presents recordings with effortless realism, allowing instruments, vocals and acoustic spaces to exist naturally within an expansive soundstage. For customers who have invested in premium loudspeakers, high-performance amplification and dedicated digital sources, the TERMINATOR 15TH offers a digital front end capable of revealing the full potential of every component. It is a DAC built not simply to impress today, but to remain the reference point of a world-class music system for years to come.
