DENAFRIPS IRIS 15TH

The DENAFRIPS IRIS 15TH is a dedicated Digital-to-Digital Converter (DDC) engineered to optimise digital signal transmission between modern digital sources and high-performance DACs. Designed to reduce timing errors, electrical noise and signal degradation, the IRIS 15TH reconstructs and reclocks incoming digital audio before delivering a cleaner, more stable signal to compatible digital-to-analogue converters. It builds on more than fifteen years of DENAFRIPS digital engineering while introducing a redesigned aluminium chassis and updated internal architecture. At its core, the IRIS 15TH combines proprietary FPGA digital signal processing, FIFO buffering and precision TCXO clock technology to regenerate digital audio with improved timing accuracy. Incoming USB audio is processed, reclocked and galvanically isolated before being transmitted through multiple digital outputs including I²S, AES/EBU, coaxial and optical connections. This dedicated signal conditioning helps minimise jitter while preserving the integrity of the original digital data. Power is supplied by a low-noise linear power supply built around a 60VA UPOCC copper O-core transformer and multiple independent low-noise voltage regulators. Together with the precision-machined aluminium chassis, these design elements create a stable electrical and mechanical platform for accurate digital signal processing. The IRIS 15TH also supports external master clock synchronisation, allowing compatible systems to benefit from an even higher level of timing precision when paired with DENAFRIPS master clock generators such as the TERRA or AETHER MCLK. Unlike a DAC, the IRIS 15TH performs no digital-to-analogue conversion. Instead, it acts as an advanced digital interface that refines and regenerates digital audio before it reaches the DAC. When integrated into a compatible high-end audio system, the result is often improved image stability, greater clarity and a more coherent presentation without altering the fundamental character of the connected components. Highlights Advanced Digital Signal Regeneration The IRIS 15TH has been engineered to regenerate and reclock incoming digital audio before it reaches your DAC. By improving signal integrity and reducing timing errors, it provides a cleaner digital source for compatible high-performance digital-to-analogue converters. Proprietary FPGA Processing At the heart of the IRIS 15TH is proprietary FPGA-based digital signal processing combined with FIFO buffering. This architecture reconstructs the incoming digital stream while preserving data accuracy and improving overall timing precision. Precision TCXO Clock Technology A high-precision Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) provides stable clock generation for digital signal processing. This precision timing architecture helps reduce jitter and improve the consistency of digital signal transmission. Comprehensive Digital Connectivity The IRIS 15TH offers a broad selection of digital inputs and outputs, including USB, I²S, AES/EBU, coaxial and optical connections, allowing seamless integration with a wide variety of digital sources and external DACs. External Master Clock Compatibility For even greater timing accuracy, the IRIS 15TH supports synchronization with compatible external master clocks such as the DENAFRIPS TERRA and AETHER MCLK, creating a highly stable digital playback chain. Design & Engineering Dedicated Digital-to-Digital Conversion Unlike a DAC, the IRIS 15TH performs no digital-to-analogue conversion. Instead, it receives, regenerates and reclocks digital audio before transmitting a cleaner digital signal to the connected DAC. FPGA & FIFO Architecture Incoming digital audio is processed through proprietary FPGA circuitry and FIFO buffering before being retransmitted. This architecture improves timing consistency while maintaining accurate data transmission throughout the digital signal path. Galvanic Isolation Critical digital circuits are electrically isolated to minimise noise transfer between connected digital components. This contributes to lower electrical interference and improved overall digital performance. High-Performance Linear Power Supply A 60VA UPOCC O-Core transformer supplies a carefully engineered low-noise linear power supply with multiple independent regulation stages. This robust power architecture provides exceptionally stable operating conditions for the precision digital circuitry. Precision Aluminium Construction The CNC-machined aluminium chassis provides excellent structural rigidity while shielding sensitive digital circuitry from external electrical interference. Its premium finish complements the industrial design shared across the DENAFRIPS component range. RockOnAV's Take The IRIS 15TH is one of those products that is often overlooked until it's heard within a well-resolved digital system. Rather than adding features or changing the sonic character of a DAC, it focuses entirely on improving the quality of the digital signal before conversion takes place. We particularly appreciate its ability to bridge modern digital sources with high-performance DACs while reducing jitter and improving timing consistency. The combination of FPGA processing, FIFO buffering and precision clocking provides a noticeably more refined digital foundation for compatible systems. For customers already investing in a quality DAC, the IRIS 15TH represents a logical upgrade that complements rather than replaces existing equipment. It also integrates naturally within the broader DENAFRIPS ecosystem, especially when combined with one of the company's DACs and optional external master clocks. Who It's For The DENAFRIPS IRIS 15TH is designed for audiophiles using computers, music streamers or other digital sources with a high-performance external DAC. It is ideal for listeners seeking improved digital signal integrity, lower jitter and greater overall system refinement without changing their existing DAC.
