DENAFRIPS ARCE Streamer

The DENAFRIPS ARCE Streamer is the company's inaugural network music streamer, engineered with a singular focus on delivering exceptional sound quality rather than unnecessary complexity. Designed as the ideal digital source for high-performance external DACs, the ARCE combines proprietary hardware, a purpose-built operating system and precision digital engineering to create a stable, low-noise platform for streaming music from local libraries and supported network services. At the heart of the ARCE is a proprietary streamer module developed entirely in-house by DENAFRIPS. Powered by a Quad-Core ARM Cortex processor, the platform incorporates precision temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO), FPGA-based digital signal processing, galvanic isolation and low-noise linear power regulation. These technologies work together to minimise electrical interference and preserve signal integrity before the digital data reaches your DAC. The ARCE supports a variety of playback methods including Roon Bridge, HQPlayer NAA, AirPlay and DLNA, while also allowing playback from USB storage devices, SD cards and network-attached storage (NAS). Multiple digital outputs—including I²S over HDMI, AES/EBU, coaxial and optical—allow seamless integration with a broad range of high-end DACs, giving users the flexibility to build a digital front end that best suits their system. For compatible systems, the ARCE also supports synchronization with an external master clock such as the DENAFRIPS TERRA or AETHER for even greater timing precision. Rather than functioning as a DAC itself, the ARCE is dedicated exclusively to high-quality digital transport duties. By isolating streaming, clock management and digital signal transmission from the digital-to-analogue conversion stage, it allows compatible DACs to perform at their full potential. The result is a presentation with improved clarity, stable imaging and a natural sense of musical flow that forms the foundation of a refined digital playback system. Highlights Purpose-Built Network Music Streaming The ARCE has been engineered as a dedicated digital transport, providing a clean and stable streaming source for external DACs. By focusing exclusively on digital signal delivery, it allows high-performance DACs to operate at their full potential. Proprietary Streaming Platform Rather than relying on an off-the-shelf solution, the ARCE features a proprietary streaming platform developed entirely by DENAFRIPS. The dedicated hardware and operating system are designed to deliver reliable performance while minimising unnecessary processing and electrical noise. Precision Clock Architecture A high-precision TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) provides accurate digital timing throughout the streaming process. This stable clock architecture helps reduce timing errors before the digital signal reaches the connected DAC. Flexible Digital Connectivity The ARCE offers a comprehensive selection of digital outputs, including I²S over HDMI, AES/EBU, coaxial and optical connections, making it compatible with a wide range of premium external DACs. External Master Clock Compatibility For users seeking even greater digital precision, the ARCE supports synchronization with compatible external master clocks, including the DENAFRIPS TERRA and AETHER MCLK, allowing the entire digital front end to operate from a highly stable timing reference. Design & Engineering Dedicated Digital Transport Design Unlike all-in-one streaming products that combine multiple functions into a single chassis, the ARCE has been designed exclusively as a digital transport. This focused approach minimises internal interference while delivering a cleaner digital signal to an external DAC. Proprietary Hardware Platform The streaming engine combines a Quad-Core ARM processor with FPGA-based digital processing and proprietary software developed specifically for high-end audio applications. This integrated architecture provides stable network performance while preserving digital signal integrity. Low-Noise Linear Power Supply The ARCE incorporates a dedicated linear power supply with a toroidal transformer and carefully regulated power stages. This design provides clean, stable power to the sensitive digital circuitry while reducing electrical noise that can affect streaming performance. Galvanic Isolation Critical digital circuits are electrically isolated to minimise unwanted noise transmission between network components and downstream audio equipment. This contributes to a cleaner digital signal path and improved overall system performance. Premium Aluminium Construction The precision-machined aluminium chassis provides excellent structural rigidity while shielding the internal circuitry from external interference. The understated industrial design matches the rest of the DENAFRIPS product range. RockOnAV's Take The ARCE isn't trying to be an all-in-one streaming solution—and that's exactly what makes it so appealing. Instead of including an internal DAC or unnecessary features, DENAFRIPS has concentrated entirely on delivering the cleanest possible digital signal to an external converter. What stands out to us is the attention given to clock stability, power supply design and signal integrity. When partnered with a quality external DAC, the ARCE provides a stable digital foundation that allows the rest of the system to perform at a very high level. We particularly like how naturally it integrates within the DENAFRIPS ecosystem. Combined with one of the company's DACs—and optionally the TERRA or AETHER MCLK—it forms the basis of a highly capable digital front end. At the same time, its standard digital outputs make it equally suitable for a wide variety of high-end DACs from other manufacturers. Who It's For The DENAFRIPS ARCE Streamer is designed for music enthusiasts and audiophiles who already own—or plan to purchase—a high-quality external DAC. It is an excellent choice for listeners seeking a dedicated network music streamer that prioritises digital signal quality, reliable operation and long-term upgrade flexibility.
