Leisure Time Defender | Stain & Scale

Leisure Time Defender is a concentrated liquid stain and scale inhibitor formulated specifically for spas and hot tubs. Active chemistry: a proprietary blend of organic sequestering polymers that bind to dissolved calcium and metals, keeping them suspended in the water instead of bonding to your spa's surfaces. Works with every common sanitizer program — chlorine, bromine, ozone, biguanide, and mineral cartridge systems. Hard water is the silent killer of hot tubs. Dissolved calcium and minerals don't stay dissolved forever — heat, agitation, and time push them out of solution, where they crust onto your heater element, glaze your jets, and leave a chalky ring around the waterline. Once scale takes hold, it reduces heater efficiency, shortens equipment life, and turns routine water care into a chore. The expensive components in your spa — the heater, the circulation pump, the jet bodies — are the ones scale damages first. Defender stops that process before it starts. Used weekly at the recommended dose, it also gradually lifts existing scale deposits back into the water so your filter can carry them away. A single quart treats a standard residential spa for roughly four months, making Defender one of the most cost-effective ways to protect the most expensive parts of your tub. Pro Tip: If you've recently filled your spa with well water — or if you live in a hard water region — pair Defender with Leisure Time Metal Gon at startup. Metal Gon sequesters dissolved metals during the fresh fill; Defender keeps them suspended week after week. Together they prevent the brown, green, or rust-colored staining that hard water can leave on acrylic shells. Brand Leisure Time®
