About Us Why Choose a Deep Storage Chest?             Sometimes floor space in certain rooms can be hard to come by. Our deep storage chest is designed with a shorter length and an added height to give you the same storage capacity as a standard wooden chest. With a shorter length, our deep storage trunk will be able to fit into your smaller, narrower corners of your room and still hold all your belongings. Also, you can choose our deep storage chest with lower drawers if you want to store smaller items in an easily accessible space. Storage Chest Variations Lower Drawers             Our deep storage chest comes in two main designs. The first design is very similar to our other trunks. With a lid and a smooth front, this design offers traditional storage space similar to our vintage style trunks. However, our second design offers the same size wooden storage chest with the exception of two small drawers in the bottom. Because of the smaller drawers, you will be able to store small books, papers, and small articles of clothing. Since the drawers are on the bottom, all of these items will be easily accessible and will not get lost in the depth of the storage chest. So, whether you choose a chest with lowers drawers or not, each design of storage chest will provide you with the extra storage space that you need to keep your special items safe. Different Feet Design             Each of our vintage storage chests comes with two different style feet options. The first option, called the “shaker base”, comes with simple straight lines that gives the storage chest more of modest appearance.  On the other hand, our second option called the “tulip base”, comes with rounded ‘tulip’ like feet that give the storage trunk more of smooth, colonial style appearance. All of our handcrafted wooden storage trunks will provide you with the best storage solution regardless of which style you choose. Storage Chest Wood Options             In our wooden storage trunk, we offer the most variety of wood options to choose from. Our options include oak, cherry, maple, tiger maple, and quarter sawn white oak. Each type of wood has its own unique and special characteristics that will add value to your deep storage chest. No matter which type of wood that you choose, every chest comes standard with a cedar bottom. Most importantly, with numerous colors of paints and stain to choose from, you can customize your wooden chest to match the rest of the decor in your home. Features of the Deep Storage Chest Dovetail Joints             Every single one of our Amish handcrafted storage chest is built with beautiful dovetail joinery. Since the corners of dovetail joints are interlocked together, it is considered one of the strongest joints. Not only does a dovetail joint provide extra strength, its interlocking corners also portray a unique beauty and show skilled craftsmanship. Lock/Spring Loaded Hinge             One of the most convenient features included on every wooden storage chest is the lock and the spring-loaded hinge for the lid. No more hassle for you as you try to place your things inside the chest. The spring-loaded hinge will hold the lid open for you and keep it from falling on any innocent fingers.  Also, you can secure your items inside the chest with the working lock that is included on every piece. Chest Front Design             Our deep storage chests also come with optional engraved designs for the front of the chest. Make this chest personal to you by choosing a unique engraving or a simple saying for the front of your wooden chest.
