Kitchen Witch Klara – Blue

For the Fire Goddess — the hearth needs a keeper, and Klara does not take days off. This Klara wears her blues: layered patterned fabrics with delicate netting that give her a wonderfully old-world, handmade look. Rosy cheeks, a crooked smile, bright watchful eyes, and wisps of grey hair under a feathered black hat — she is every inch the good witch of Northern European legend, the one Norwegian kitchens have trusted for centuries. Her promise, as the rhyme goes: nothing spills, nothing spoils, overcooks or overboils. Hang her by the stove where she can guard the pots, or tuck her onto a shelf beside your dried herbs and honey jars. She brings good luck, counteracts ill-will directed at the home, and lends a spark of creativity to anyone stirring up their own remedies.
