Kitchen Witch Hilda – Grey

For the Fire Goddess — grey like woodsmoke, and every bit as at home over a stove. Hilda descends from the old Northern European custom of the kitchen witch — the benevolent crone hung in Norwegian kitchens for centuries to keep roasts from burning, pots from boiling over, and sauces from spilling. In soft greys with handmade layered fabrics, netting, and her trusty broom, she stands ready to sweep out bad luck and counteract any ill-will directed at your home. Let her hold court by the range, or nestle her among your mortar-and-pestle and jars of dried rosemary. Folklore says a kitchen witch given as a gift is especially lucky — but no one will blame you for keeping this one.
