Each fastener's wing sits within the groove of one board while the stainless steel, color-matched screw drives at a 90-degree angle down through the fastener into the joist; the next board then slides onto the wing on the opposite side of the same clip, locking both boards in place with a single fastener at each joist connection. The screw comes preloaded into each fastener, speeding up installation and eliminating a separate step. Stowaway automatically maintains a consistent 1/4" gap between boards for a uniform look across the whole deck, and removes the need for pre-drilling or countersinking altogether.
