Decaf Vagabond Blend

Some decafs taste like compromise. Evans Brothers' Decaf Vagabond Blend tastes like the coffee you'd choose even if caffeine weren't part of the equation. Named after a mellow ski run at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, this blend delivers the warmth and comfort of a slower pace—rich caramel sweetness, baking spices, and a molasses depth that lingers long after the cup is empty. It's decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process at Descamex in Mexico, a chemical-free method that preserves the coffee's inherent character while removing 99% of the caffeine. Tasting NotesThe first sip brings forward caramel and brown sugar, rounded out by cinnamon-like spice and a subtle molasses undertone. The body is full and velvety, with a balanced acidity that keeps the cup lively without overwhelming the sweetness. The finish is clean and slightly nutty, with lingering notes of toffee. This is decaf that doesn't announce itself—it simply tastes like really good coffee. Brew MethodsVagabond shines across the spectrum. As espresso, it pulls sweet and syrupy with minimal bitterness, perfect for straight shots or milk drinks. In a pour over or drip machine, the caramel and spice notes open up beautifully, offering clarity and balance. French press amplifies the body and brings out the molasses character. Cold brew turns it into a dessert-like sipper with chocolate and caramel in full effect. Whatever your preferred method, this blend delivers. About Swiss Water ProcessUnlike chemical decaffeination methods, the Swiss Water Process uses only water, temperature, and time to remove caffeine. Green coffee is soaked in a flavor-charged water solution that extracts caffeine molecules through a carbon filter while preserving the coffee's soluble flavor compounds. The flavor-rich water is then reintroduced to the beans, allowing them to reabsorb their original character. The result: decaf that tastes like the coffee it was meant to be, not a shadow of it.
