Decaf Fool's Gold

Decaf Fool's Gold from Milwaukee's Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. proves that sacrificing caffeine doesn't mean settling for flat, lifeless coffee. This carefully composed South American blend features two coffees selected specifically for their inherent sweetness and complexity—qualities that survive and thrive through the decaffeination process. The result is a medium roast that drinks like a thoughtfully crafted blend should: balanced, nuanced, and deeply satisfying at any hour of the day. Tasting NotesExpect rich chocolate undertones anchored by warming baking spices—think cinnamon and nutmeg—with bright accents of dried fruit that add dimension without acidity. The body is smooth and round, coating the palate with a silky mouthfeel that lingers pleasantly. The finish is clean but sustained, leaving traces of cocoa and subtle sweetness rather than the papery aftertaste common in lesser decafs. This is comfort in a cup, with enough character to keep your attention. Brew MethodsFool's Gold shines across brewing methods. Pull it as espresso for a chocolate-forward shot that stands up beautifully in milk drinks—cappuccinos and lattes reveal its baking spice notes particularly well. As drip or pour-over, the dried fruit qualities emerge more prominently, making for an excellent morning or evening cup. French press amplifies the body and brings forward the nutty, chocolate elements. Avoid over-extracting; this coffee rewards a dialed-in grind and brew time with balanced sweetness.
