DC Blocker +

The iFi Audio DC Blocker+ is the perfect accessory designed to eliminate unwanted DC (direct current) offset in audio signals, which can cause various issues in audio systems. Just as you're listening to the quietest of tracks, your ears pick up an annoying low-level hum from inside your audio component—the dreaded mechanical hum. Various interferences can disrupt mains electricity distorting the AC waveform and reducing audio quality. The DC Blocker+ improves the sound quality of your music and protects audio equipment from potential damage caused by DC offset. Say goodbye to annoying mechanical hums and start enjoying your music exactly the way the artist intended.  Features Intelligently blocks > 1,000mV DC to eliminate transformer hum Safely retains EMI shielding Doesn't affect the safety of the equipment Can be used around the globe Sayonara mechanical hum. DC offset is a common problem in audio systems, particularly in those with multiple components or long cable runs. Although household outlets are intended to deliver pure AC power, a range of your home appliances create ‘asymmetrical loads’, resulting in DC voltage on the AC supply. When a small amount of DC voltage from the mains reaches the transformer, it can cause ‘saturation’, leading the transformer to produce a significant and persistent humming sound. You can hear it when you bring your ear close to or next to the chassis. The DC Blocker+ is a smart device that, when you place it at the IEC (the rear power inlet), prevents DC from getting into the amplifier, thus eliminating transformer hum. Plus for Higher Power Equipment Integrate the DC Blocker+ into your audio system and finally enjoy music without the annoyance of unwanted hum. The DC Blocker+ intelligently blocks over 1,000mV DC to eliminate transformer hum while retaining EMI shielding and leaving equipment safety unaffected. This power accessory uses a high-performance glass passivated semiconductor and has a high-case dielectric strength of 1500VRMS. With a flame-resistant IEC socket/connector/chassis you don't have to worry about any unwanted sparks and fires in your home audio or home theater setup. Enjoy music without the annoyance of unwanted hum. The DC Blocker+ is incredibly beneficial when using larger audio components like standalone headphone amplifiers. Usually, the bigger the amplifier, the larger the toroidal transformer—something that's often sensitive to residual DC voltage. By adding the DC Blocker+ at the IEC, you'll effectively stop DC from getting in. This tiny, yet powerful power accessory is compact enough to not obstruct other connectors, sockets, or cables, while being globally compatible from 90 to 250V and designed for high-power equipment with a continuous current rating of 10A.
