It holds 3.5 gallons, which covers most situations unless you’re running multiple dogs in serious heat. The design is simple and actually smart. A rubber plug seals the opening. Pull the plug, tilt the unit down, and the bowl fills on its own. Tip it back upright when you’re done and unused water returns to the reservoir. The plug stores in a molded recess on the base while the system is in use so you don’t lose it or have a dog chew it.
