DESCRIPTION Daruharidra's botanical name is Berberis Aristata.  This plant has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for a long time.  The fruit of this plant is edible and a rich source of Vitamin C.  The root of the herb has berberine and isoquinoline alkaloids.  Both of these compounds are anti-fungal and antimicrobial.
