Dark Tapestry

“Missing kid down golders green” The sergeant reported. “Probably nothing.” Detective Inspector Colin Sommers looked up. “Put the call through.” At 7:00 a.m. it was a beautiful London morning. At 7:50 a.m. the nightmare began. Eight-year-old Josh, Don and Ilana Hardman’s only child, was gone. In this chilling thriller of kidnapping and revenge, Jewish traditions are lost and refound. The author weaves a tapestry of unforgettable characters: We meet Colin, a hard-bitten London cop who has carefully eradicated all traces of his past as an Orthodox Jew; Leora, a forthright criminologist and baalas teshuvah; and Ilana, a fragile yet indomitable mother. And lurking in the shadows, the terrifying figure of a man crazed by memories forgotten by all but him. Reprinted by popular request, the revised Dark Tapestry is the first prequel to Ruthie Pearlman’s best-selling Yael Reed series. With its fast-paced excitement and important message of Jewish values, Dark Tapestry is a novel you’ll never forget.
