Johannes Andersen Danish Modern Teak Draw Leaf Dining Table

Graceful proportions, exceptional craftsmanship, and ingenious functionality define this authentic Johannes Andersen Danish Modern teak draw leaf dining table. Designed in Denmark during the golden age of Scandinavian furniture, this beautifully crafted table showcases Andersen’s talent for creating furniture that is both elegant and highly practical. Constructed in richly figured teak with solid teak tapered legs, the table features a warm, glowing finish and striking cathedral grain across the tabletop. Unlike traditional  tables with leaves, this design incorporates two hidden draw leaves, one concealed beneath each end of the table. Each leaf slides out effortlessly to transform the table from an intimate everyday dining table into an impressive centerpiece capable of accommodating family gatherings and dinner parties. One of the most distinctive details is the table’s refined silhouette. Rather than a simple rectangle, the top gently widens at the center before subtly tapering toward each end, creating softer lines that are unmistakably Danish Modern. Every angle reflects the thoughtful craftsmanship that made Johannes Andersen one of Denmark’s most celebrated furniture designers. Please note that the camera exaggerates slight tonal differences between the extension leaves and the main top. In person, the leaves match the table beautifully, with the variation seen in photographs being largely the result of lighting and camera exposure. Professionally restored by Hobbs Modern, this table is ready for decades of daily use while retaining the timeless elegance that has made Danish Modern furniture so highly sought after by collectors and designers alike. This table embodies that philosophy with its elegant tapered profile, beautifully figured teak, and brilliantly engineered hidden extension system. Compact enough for everyday living yet capable of expanding to nearly 100 inches, it is equally at home in a modern dining room, a classic mid-century interior, or a thoughtfully curated contemporary space.
