Danelectro Dan O. Cool Aqua 12-String

The Danelectro Dano O is exactly what happens when a brand stops looking backward—and instead reconnects with what made it iconic in the first place. Since bringing Danelectro back in 1998, most releases have focused on faithfully reissuing the classics. The Dano O flips that idea on its head. This isn’t just something new for the sake of being new—it’s a deeper dive into the DNA of the original 1950s designs, pulling together some of the most beloved vintage elements into one seriously inspiring instrument. Right out of the gate, you’re getting the full bell headstock—a signature look dating back to 1954 that instantly sets the tone. The rosewood saddle bridge, also first seen in ’54, brings a warmth and softness to the attack that players have chased for decades. It’s a subtle detail, but one that completely shapes the feel and response of the guitar. Then there are the details that make Danelectro, well… Danelectro. The skate key tuners from 1958 give it that unmistakable vintage vibe, while the rare U3-style pickguard adds a visual edge you don’t see every day. And of course, the heart of the sound: lipstick pickups. These are built just like the originals from the ‘50s, but with a modern push—30% hotter in the bridge and 20% hotter in the neck. The result is everything you want from a Danelectro—chime, sparkle, and that airy, almost vocal quality—just with a little more authority when you lean into it. Sweet cleans, rich harmonics, and a responsiveness that makes it hard to put down. Finished in authentic 1950s-inspired colors never before offered on a Danelectro, the Dano O doesn’t just nod to the past—it feels like it belongs there. This is Danelectro at its core. Simple, stylish, and full of character—but now with a fresh perspective that makes it more relevant than ever. PRE-ORDER: ETA Early May.
