Dan Clark Audio AEON 2 Noire

ÆON 2 Noire is the latest edition of the award-winning ÆON 2 Closed headphone. Featuring a bold metallic black paint ÆON 2 Noire sports a perforated ear-pad to deliver an all-new sound. In fact, ÆON 2 Noire's tuning almost exactly aligns to the “Harman Curve,” gently boosting bass and treble compared to ÆON 2 Closed. The result is a “lighter” sounding midrange and a soundstage that moves the “stage” a bit further from the listener for a wider and deeper space. Description Big Full-size Sound, Small Size for Portability Dan Clark Audio (formerly MrSpeakers) is pleased to announce the all new AEON 2 Noire closed-back planar magnetic headphones. AEON 2 features the latest engineering innovations from our team, married with smart industrial design and a price that will make you smile. The original AEON Flow broke new ground with its ergonomic and stylish industrial design that are hallmarks of Dan Clark Audio designs. From the elegant shape of the earcups, to the lightweight nitinol headband, and the amazing performance of its in-house designed planer drivers, it’s hard to belive we could find a ways to improve it……… but we did! Back in Black Since we launched ÆON 2 we have had two frequent requests: make a black version, and offer it with the perforated pads. Well we listened, and here it is! Experience the dynamics, detail and smooth sound of ÆON 2, with a striking black finish and a vibrant new sound with an expanded soundstage and a lighter midrange tone relative to its ÆON 2 Closed sibling. Noire still retains all of the original Aeon 2’s new features including: Updated driver structure flipped 180 degrees to remove magnet and flow structures from the diaphragm to the ear. Streamlined flow elements converted to a single construction, removing air gaps to improve internal airflow. Higher precision machined flow structures replace injection molded parts. Superior driver damping for improved resolution, dynamics and a smoother frequency response. Perforated earpads for a vibrant new tuning. With an even larger soundstage and lighter midrange. The sum of all these innovations is a headphone the renders music with all its emotional impact: full visceral bass, transparent mids, and detail up top that is presented in an open deep and immersive soundstage putting the music further “out of your head” to create a deeply satisfying experience. Big Sound, Uncompromised Portability Many of us at Dan Clark Audio travel extensively around the world to attend headphone shows to meet our incredible customers and dealers. We felt that while the AEON comes with a great case, it was a bit bulky and hard to travel with. When we set out to create the AEON 2 we wanted to improve its portability without sacrificing performance, reliability or comfort. So our engineering team set about making a no-compromise folding headphone and case that would travel more efficiently – and we succeeded. Our Smart Industrial Design ethos was fully engaged when the team tackled this project, resulting in a singularly cool folding mechanisms that actually improves the clamping, fit, feel, and structural integrity of the entire headphone. All while allowing the headphone to tuck away into the new smaller included semi-hard case with your favorite cable. Taking up half as much space in your back-pack or purse when compared to our previous model. Specifications Efficiency: 92dB/mW Weight: 340 grams Cable: Detachable 2m premium dual-entry with 3.5mm and 1/4" termination Impedance: 13 ohms After listening and acting on customer feedback we are once more thrilled to offer the new Aeon 2 Noire to our passionate customers and hope the community will truly love them. Since its introduction in 2017, the Aeon has pushed the Value/Performance ratio beyond industry standards. In many ways the Aeon is a direct reflection of the primary mission Dan Clark Audio was founded on: providing outstanding performance and engineering at prices well below our competitors so our community of listeners is empowered and excited to use our products.
