The History Behind This Damascus Tracker-Kukri Hybrid Knife  Tracker blades trace back to bushcraft traditions built for versatile outdoor use in the field and forest. The kukri traces back to Nepal, carried by Gurkha soldiers for heavy chopping work in rugged terrain. Colored bone handles bring a modern finish to traditional working knife shapes used by outdoorsmen today. JW SteelCrafts continues that craft, forging each blade and fitting each handle by hand at the shop. Blade Performance This tracker kukri knife holds an aggressive edge through heavy chopping and detail cutting tasks alike in the field and forest. Its recurved profile shifts weight forward, giving each swing more cutting force with less effort from the user. The choil notch near the guard allows for controlled detail work beyond typical kukri designs. Wipe the blade dry after use and apply a light oil coat to protect the wood-grain pattern from rust. Handle Construction This handmade tracker kukri knife features a colored bone handle finished with a matching Damascus steel clip and pommel on both ends of the grip. The steel fittings add weight and reinforce both ends of the handle for lasting durability over time. Colored bone resists wear well, holding its finish through repeated outdoor handling season after season. Full tang construction keeps the grip stable and balanced during extended use in the field.
