Damar Davis - Damar Davis (EP)

Damar Davis, the self-titled EP from LA-based artist and Salon Recordings founder, Damar Davis, is a concise exploration of the influences that are defining the modern West Coast house sound. It transports you to a realm of analog warmth. Crunchy kicks set into motion grooves that are emphasized by smooth bass lines and ghost rhythms, guided by clean synth chords, and seasoned with sensual vocal samples that bounce in echoes across the soundscape. The progression of the dance floor comes at the highest priority as the tracks push forward in an impossibly natural build and release of tension begging you pull away from the wall you are flowering on. Featuring beautifully composed jazz chords over layered 909 drum loops with subtle percussion and rolling basslines, Damar Davis is a tapas-sized bite of what makes LA house great.
