Daisy's Ricefish

Daisy's Ricefish (Oryzias woworae) Daisy's Ricefish is a stunning nano fish celebrated for its brilliant electric blue eyes, shimmering silver-blue body, and vibrant orange-red fins. This peaceful schooling species has become a favorite among planted aquarium enthusiasts thanks to its striking colors, active swimming behavior, and ease of care. When kept in a large group, their glowing blue eyes create a dazzling display that stands out beautifully against lush green plants. Native to the freshwater streams of Muna Island in Sulawesi, Indonesia, Daisy's Ricefish inhabits clear, slow-moving waters rich in aquatic vegetation. In the aquarium, they thrive in planted tanks with gentle water flow, open swimming space, and floating plants that provide security while enhancing their natural coloration. As a highly social species, they should be kept in schools of at least six individuals, though groups of ten or more produce the most impressive display and encourage natural behavior. Daisy's Ricefish are omnivores and readily accept high-quality micro pellets, crushed flakes, frozen baby brine shrimp, daphnia, Cyclops, microworms, and other small live or frozen foods. A varied diet helps maintain their brilliant colors and supports healthy growth and breeding. Their exceptionally peaceful temperament makes them ideal tank mates for Chili Rasboras, Celestial Pearl Danios, Pygmy Corydoras, Otocinclus, freshwater shrimp, snails, and other gentle nano fish. They are an excellent choice for planted community aquariums where their vivid blue eyes and colorful fins provide constant movement and visual appeal.
