Cypruss Handwoven Transitional Rug, J58364

Introducing our exquisite Afghan rug, featuring a stunning cypress design that adds a touch of elegance to any space. This transitional style rug originates from Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeastern part of the country known for its mountainous terrain, which produces superior wool for carpet weaving. Crafted by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, many from the Esari Subtribe, this rug showcases the expertise and artistry of the Afghan rug-making tradition. The wool used in this rug is sourced locally and brought to the western side of Afghanistan, around Herat, where it is meticulously hand carted and spun into high-quality carpet yarn. Using traditional floor looms in the weavers' homes, this rug is woven with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, creating a durable and long-lasting piece. The cotton warp and weft, along with the wool pile, make for a sturdy construction while providing a plush feel underfoot. The background of this rug features a delicate lavender hue, beautifully complemented by an ivory border. The main color of this rug is a rich shade of purple, adding a regal touch to its overall design. Measuring 7 '11" x 10'0", this rug is perfect for creating a focal point in any room. The centuries-old dyeing techniques used in this rug result in all-natural colors that will truly stand the test of time. Its high knot density of 80 knots per square inch ensures exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. In total, this rug boasts an impressive 900,973 individually hand-tied knots. Each knot represents the dedication and skill of the weavers, making this rug a true work of art.
