Cypress StormShield

Cypress StormShield Sleeping Bag Built for the world’s harshest environments, the Cypress StormShield™ is Western Mountaineering’s answer to the demands of long-term polar expeditions, remote basecamps, and high-altitude bivouacs. Comfort-rated to -30°F (-34°C), this winter expedition sleeping bag is designed for those who spend extended periods in deep cold and can’t afford to compromise on warmth, durability, or packability. At the heart of the Cypress is premium 850+ fill power goose down, ethically sourced and hand-filled for maximum loft and thermal performance. The spacious semi-rectangular shape provides extra room to move or layer up without creating cold spots—ideal for extended tent-bound nights or recovery time between summit pushes. Encasing the insulation is our StormShield™ shell fabric, a high-performance material that is windproof, water-resistant, and breathable. It sheds spindrift, resists condensation buildup, and creates a reliable barrier against weather without compromising ventilation or comfort. This makes the Cypress a go-to choice for prolonged use in arctic and alpine environments where reliability and weather protection are non-negotiable. A full down draft collar and interlocking draft tubes prevent heat loss and cold seepage, while a secondary footbox zipper allows the bag to open up and lay flat like a comforter—perfect for use in a tent, yurt, or snow shelter when conditions permit a little more luxury. The Cypress is the pinnacle of versatile comfort in an expedition sleeping bag. Whether you’re wintering in Alaska, ski touring across the Arctic, or supporting research in the Andes, the Cypress StormShield™ is engineered to keep you safe, warm, and well-rested through it all.
