The Cybex Eagle Abdominal uses a pelvic stabilization system with variable resistance profiled to the abdominal strength curve - the pelvic stabilization system is the defining feature that separates the Eagle Abdominal from most seated crunch machines: the adjustable foot brace allows the user to actively lock into the hip pad, engaging the hip extensors to fix the pelvis in place before the crunch begins. On machines without pelvic stabilization, the pelvis can anteriorly tilt and the hip flexors assist the crunch - shifting effort away from the rectus abdominis. When the pelvis is braced and fixed, the hip flexors are taken out of the movement and the abdominals must produce the full crunch force. The adjustable foot brace accommodates different user heights while maintaining this pelvic lock across all of them. Dual Axis Technology™ adds machine-defined or user-defined crunch arc options.
