Grand Marnier Cuvée Du Centenaire (100th Anniversary)

Experience a century of craftsmanship with Cuvée Du Centenaire, a truly historic and luxurious spirit from Grand Marnier. Blending exquisite XO Cognac with Grand Marnier's iconic orange liqueur, this 1927 release offers an unparalleled journey of flavor and heritage. Tasting Notes Nose: A captivating and complex bouquet, opening with rich marmalade and candied orange peel, intertwined with deep notes of dried fruits like apricot and fig. Underlying this citrus symphony are hints of aged oak, delicate vanilla, and a subtle rancio from the XO Cognac, suggesting leather and old books. A whisper of spice – perhaps nutmeg or cinnamon – emerges, adding further layers. Palate: The palate is remarkably smooth and opulent, a direct reflection of its age and components. Initial flavors burst with dark, bittersweet orange, followed by a wave of caramel and butterscotch. The influence of the XO Cognac is evident in the silky mouthfeel and developed notes of toasted nuts, dark chocolate, and a touch of tobacco. There's a beautiful interplay between the sweet fruitiness from the orange liqueur and the dry, elegant structure of the aged spirits. A delicate warmth spreads across the tongue, never overwhelming. Finish: The finish is exceptionally long and lingering, a true testament to its quality. It fades gracefully with echoes of orange zest, dark honey, and a soft, oaky spice. The rancio notes from the Cognac persist, leaving a sophisticated, almost ethereal aftertaste of mature spirits and a faint whisper of orange blossom. It’s a remarkable, contemplative finish that encourages savoring. About the Distillery Grand Marnier is a French liqueur company established in 1827 by Jean-Baptiste Lapostolle.
