Custom Half Frame Pack

Half frame packs are one of those pieces of kit that we almost never take off once we put them on because they’re so darn useful. We don’t make packs that mostly fit - each pack is custom fit to your frame to maximize volume (and keep the aesthetic polished).  We offer three exterior fabric options - 1000D Cordura nylon, RX30 X-pac, and 15oz waxed canvas. All of these options are weather-resistant and extremely hard-wearing. RX30 is the lightest weight. 1000D Cordura is mid-weight and has proven its resistance to hard use for decades. 15oz waxed canvas patinas beautifully with age, eventually telling the stories of adventures past (but it shouldn’t be run through the washing machine). For a deeper dive into our fabric options, look HERE! On the inside, you’ll find tough 200D nylon and a mesh pocket and key hook below the main zipper for keeping your little sundries organized. And every pack is padded on all sides using a lightweight 1/8” closed-cell foam, providing structure and protection for your frame and gear. After a lot of testing, we’ve opted to use a #9 Ideal coil zipper that opens easily without getting jammed up even when the temps drop. The water-repellency is courtesy of bio-based and PFAS-free treatment. No, the zipper isn’t waterproof, but from our experience it keeps the water out effectively, is easier to use, and lasts far longer than urethane coated zippers. And perhaps most delightfully - it can be opened and closed with one hand! For attaching your pack, we can use mounts inside the frame (if present) for a sturdy, clean, and abrasion-free attachment. We recommend a velcro attachment if you plan to remove the pack often. Aside from looking awesome, the lace-up option reduces potential strap interference with other packs on the top tube. Please also reference the example photo to make sure you're on the right track! Send a perfect photo, get a perfectly fitting pack!  Tape a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device to one of the bike frame tubes. Mount any other packs you'll be using on the bike. This ensures we avoid strap interference. Make sure your water bottle bosses are visible. This may require you to remove bottle cages or back out the bolts a few turns so they're visible under the cage. If you're ordering a half frame pack, it's a great idea to include an additional photo with your usual bottles in their cages so we can maximize space without interference. Move far enough away that both wheels are completely visible in the photo. Squat down so you're shooting directly at the center of the frame triangle. Don't take the photo from standing! Make sure you're not shooting on ultra wide angle mode or with a fisheye lens. Shoot! Then upload the highest resolution version of your photo that you can. Engage in revelry. Common pitfalls: Photo not high enough resolution. Photo taken too close. Photo taken with ultra wide angle lens (too much lens distortion). Photo taken from above the bike or off to one side. Please double check your frame size! We can't guarantee a perfect fit if your specified frame size doesn't match your photo!
