Custom Portage Pack

The classic, resurrected and ready to be customized! Originally designed for the Ron's Bikes/Crust Alumalith, this portage-style pack lends just enough room for the essential sundries while staying out of the way of your whirling knees. You can now (re)live the golden era when moms and dads everywhere stretched out over loooooong stems while wearing smooth pistachio-shell shaped chunks of foam on their noggins. If you have an A L U M A L I T H , here's how the sizing breaks down: Alumalith 16" 86 degrees Alumalith 18" 81 degrees Alumalith 20" 77.5 degrees Alumalith 22" 74.5 degrees   If you don't have an A L U M A L I T H , determine your fit by downloading this PDF. You can print it out and hold it up to your bike, or put that high school protractor to use for measuring your top tube/seat tube angle, and then make your selection accordingly! If your frame doesn't fall within these standard angles, choose "custom angle" and upload a photo of your frame according to these guidelines: Send a perfect photo, get a perfectly fitting pack!  Tape a ruler, tape measure, or other measuring device to one of the bike frame tubes. Mount any other packs you'll be using on the bike. This ensures we avoid strap interference. Make sure your water bottle bosses are visible. This may require you to remove bottle cages or back out the bolts a few turns so they're visible under the cage. If you're ordering a half frame pack, it's a great idea to include an additional photo with your usual bottles in their cages so we can maximize space without interference. Move far enough away that both wheels are completely visible in the photo. Squat down so you're shooting directly at the center of the frame triangle. Don't take the photo from standing! Make sure you're not shooting on ultra wide angle mode or with a fisheye lens. Shoot! Then upload the highest resolution version of your photo that you can. Engage in revelry. Common pitfalls: Photo not high enough resolution. Photo taken too close. Photo taken with ultra wide angle lens (too much lens distortion). Photo taken from above the bike or off to one side.
